Dear Rockaway Borough Community:

The Rockaway Borough School District offers a district-sponsored integrated preschool program for children who reside in our community. Children must be at least 3 years of age by October 1, 2025. The program runs five days a week with a morning session (8:35-11:05 AM) and an afternoon session (12:30-3:00 PM). These times are subject to change.

This inclusive preschool program provides a supportive and welcoming environment for three- and four-year-old children of all abilities to learn and grow together.  Through individualized instruction and collaborative activities, it fosters social, emotional, and academic development while celebrating diversity. This model provides children with the opportunity to grow and develop with peers of varying abilities in the area of social skills, play skills, language skills, motor skills, and early academic skills. A certified teacher and paraprofessionals provide instruction using the Creative Curriculum. The Creative Curriculum is a research-based program in which children learn through direct, hands-on activities during play-based experiences. This curriculum is designed for both general education students and students with support needs in multi-age groups. Placement in multi-age groups encourages children of various ages and abilities to progress at their own rate rather than according to age or grade-level expectations. Please note, transportation is not provided for our preschool students, nor is it mandated. Parents are responsible for their own transportation. Tuition is paid monthly in the amount of $360.00.

Enrollment for typically developing children is based on a lottery. The lottery will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025. Students who are accepted into the preschool program will have priority enrollment the following school year as well. You will be notified by phone and email if you are selected through the lottery. The registration process, including providing all necessary documents  and a nonrefundable deposit of $360.00 (to be applied to the June 2026 tuition), will be due by February 21, 2025. If you do not submit your registration documents and non refundable deposit, then you will forfeit your spot and will be placed on our waitlist. Please know that your spot on the waitlist will expire at the end of the 25-26 school year.

El programa funciona de lunes a viernes, con sesiones por la mañana (8:35am - 11:05am) o por la tarde (12:30pm - 3:00pm). Los horarios pueden cambiar.

Este programa inclusivo está diseñado para que niños de tres y cuatro años, con diferentes habilidades, aprendan y crezcan juntos. Con actividades personalizadas y colaborativas, los niños desarrollan habilidades sociales, emocionales y académicas mientras aprenden a través del juego. Usamos el Creative Curriculum, un programa basado en investigaciones, donde los niños aprenden de manera práctica y divertida.

El costo del programa es de $360 al mes. Por favor, tenga en cuenta que el transporte no está incluido; los padres son responsables de llevar y recoger a sus hijos.

La inscripción para niños sin necesidades especiales se hace por sorteo, el cual se realizará el lunes 10 de febrero de 2025. Si su hijo es seleccionado, deberá completar el registro antes del 21 de febrero de 2025. Esto incluye entregar los documentos necesarios y un depósito no reembolsable de $360.00, que se aplicará a la matrícula de junio de 2026. Si no completa el registro a tiempo, perderá su lugar y será colocado en una lista de espera, válida solo hasta el final del año escolar 2025-2026.
