Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year!
I want to officially welcome you to the 2018-2019 School Year! All of us at Lincoln Elementary School are eager to begin what promises to be a wonderful new year. We know that by working together we can deliver on the promise of a successful school experience for each child that walks through the doors of our school. Our attention to relationships and belonging will enable us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, exciting and nurturing environment. Our dedicated staff has been working hard to ensure a successful start of school on Tuesday, September 4th.
Our staff is comprised of dedicated caring professionals and paraprofessionals that consider themselves a school as well as a family. We pride ourselves in offering differentiated instruction that is geared to the needs of all our students. At Lincoln School, we work as a team and are committed to the success of each child.
We have a part-time guidance counselor which is a newly created position. The guidance counselor will help support our students’ academic growth as well as their social emotional well-being.
Lincoln School continues to have a strong sense of community that forms the pillar of our educational mission. Positive school climate guided by our “home grown” School-Wide Positive Behavioral Support System (R.A.M.S.) resonates throughout our building, and helps to foster and enhance the academic, social and emotional growth of every child.
Last school year our 1st grade students piloted ST Math, which is a visual instructional math program that builds a deep conceptual understanding of math through rigorous learning and creative problem solving which engages, motivates and challenges students toward higher achievement. Our students made tremendous progress. Due to this we have decided to use ST Math with our 1st and 2nd grade students for the upcoming school year.
Due to much needed instructional space our computer lab was dismantled and reconfigured. Within the newly designed classroom we have 2 small instructional spaces with an additional area for our students to work with our guidance counselor when needed. Keyboarding will now be taught in each classroom with our students having access to 1:1 technology.
Open communication between home and school is essential. For student success and learning at the elementary level, we encourage you to utilize this website as well as other available platforms, such as our monthly newsletter, our student information system, OnCourse Connect, teacher web-pages, our virtual backpack and emails, to stay informed and tuned into Lincoln events. In addition, you can find out information and current happenings in the classroom by following us on Facebook or Twitter. Our Twitter handle name is @LincolnSchoolRB.
